Hiking | 10.2 miles
I think EveryTrail is messing up the elevation calculation. We hiked from Ramon Rd to the tram which certainly does not amount to 12,100 ft up and 4100 ft down!  More like 8600' or so up.In any case, we did this hike with no real preparation and it was fairly difficult.  I did the same hike last summer and it was much easier then.  So if you want a less painful hiking...

Hiking | 6.6 miles
Having read about this amazing hike, it was definitely time to see what all the hype was about.  15 miles later, the hype was definitely validated. Having hiked many heralded trails, the Half Dome hike reigns as the most scenic hike I have ever done. There aren't many places in the world where you can hike past mammoth waterfalls and stand atop 4000' granite monoliths.  The scale and grandeur of such landscapes...

Hiking | 4.7 miles
Finally got around to hiking somewhere other than Garland Ranch.  As superb as the Garland Ranch hikes are, there are simply too many great hiking areas in California to be limited to one area.  Today it was my wife and I along with Patrick, Chris, and Jessica. The most spectacular part of the hike was through the Soberanes Canyon where the trail is flanked on both sides by impressive redwoods.  Once you leave...

Hiking | 6.0 miles
My wife and I must like Garland Ranch - we returned for a third hike at the park over the span of a month.  This time we drove about 1.5 miles past the main Garland Ranch entrance and turned right onto Boronda Rd and then left onto E Garzas Rd.From E Garzas, we headed onto the Terrace Trail which laterally cut through the very steep Garzas and Redwood Canyons.  This route was quite spectacular.After...
