Moderate terrain- up the Trestle trail, climb both ridges and stop at many viewpoints to enjoy panoramic views of the Hudson River, the Gunks, the Catskills, and even the top of the Empire State Building on a clear day. You will see the Megaliths, large rocks that have split from the bedrock.

Sam's Point - A long and remote scenic hike through the southwestern Shawangunks' oceanic dwarf pitch pine barrens. This trip includes the Ice Caves, the Verkeerder Kill falls, and the Berry picker's trail. See the pictures - but it's really beautiful and well worth the trip from NYC! About 2 hours ride by car.
Nice Spring Hike at Mohonk Preserve - 13mi! :))About 2 hours drive from New York City.Definitely worth it! Lots of vistas and beautiful views along the way. At the beginning of the trail, the place is a favorite spot for rock climbing.At the end of the hike, don't forget to treat yourself and your friends to a nice dinner and drinks in New Paltz - lots of great restaurants and bars!
