Just a little leg stretch on a nice day.
My annual cycle ride from Penmaenpool near Dolgellau along the Mawddach estuary to Barmouth for a seaside meal, ice dream, pint of beer ..... then potter back to The George III .. for final refreshments .....
A nice trot around a few geocaches in this area with good friends, Peter, Roger, Andy and Ken.
What a nice day for a nice set of caches, in the company of two nice guys.
In very mixed weather , threatening hail and worse , but it didn't , a merry band of geocahers, Scubaclogger = Kevin , Walker Clan = Andy , Rogerw8 , and Wigganeer = Ken, and myself - had a lovely walk and learnt a lot about the lead miners of old. This Geocache is a history trail through the relics of the 19c lead mining area.Several companies worked here, but the "boss" was the...
A foggy start to the morning saw Team DARAD set off for a day's caching.. Ah ! the name = Donna+Angela+Roger+Andy+Donald .. and a fine palendromic trip it turned out to be .. we ended up where we started ... so we could have gone round the other way and still ended up in the pub [:o)] [:o)] [:o)]A big thank you to all cache owners for such a lovely variety of...
Had a lovely day, weather wise , hunting a wide selection of Team-SK's caches around the lake and countryside. The paths and roads were great - but the fields, after days of heavy rain, were totally lethal underfoot. It made the walk quite painful trying to remain basically upright ! ! Still, the autumn colours were just starting to show through and the sunshine lit the surrounding hills up with a...
A geocaching trip made by Sheila AKA ferreter38, Kevin AKA scubaclogger and your's truly AKA The Syllogiser. The weather held off, although the fields and most of the paths were quite slippery, we managed a good day's caching.. Ferreter38 in some considerable discomfort with her hip and leg, cut short the whole trip early. Many of the caches were very creative and fun and challenging, whilst the actual route was relatively easy going; mud excepted. Met Alison and...
A little wander with Mrs Syllogiser and a dear friend , Alice Philippa. The weather was not at it's best, overcast with the odd little spitting shower. The paths were quite muddy and slippy. Still, the fresh air and super rural views took our minds off those.
A super day, geocaching mainly Team-SK's Scorton Millenium Way, Grisedale and Wyredale and over Nicky Nook hill. The weather held off, although the wind was a little "keen" to say the least.
Unfortunately my camera battery was flat - could have sworn I charged it up ! still a great day for a leg streach in fabulous weather ...
After a misty morning, down to a couple of hundred feet ASL, we finally set off for the top, up Sprinkling Ghyll, round Sprinkling Tarn , over the Ark, down the scree track, and a well earned pie n pint of Hardy Tup in the New Dungeon Ghyll Hotel..
http://coord.info/GC3FF0D , is the start of a lovely creative series of caches by
The Barrowers
along the beautiful Langstrath Valley in Borrowdale --- A great day out, thunderstorms threatened all afternoon, but missed me .. had a few minutes of showers ..
5 miles yomping + rain + 18 great caches set by Team SK around the village of Quernmore - and later super food and beer in the company of Iain AKA Bargee in The Fleece, Dolphinholme + then at 20:30 > a 5 mile leg stretch + a great Event Cache run by Paul AKA Foinavon up Clougha Pike = 2 great pals and all adds up to one heck of a day out...
A weekend caching with friends in the Bala, Gwynedd area. >- Saturday was an event cache = Bala (On Inn Brr Yin It!!) meet - a great night out ..
After a late night planning committee ............ I met RKEV = AKA = scubaclogger in Manchester and we headed out to Bramhall station and then up through Carrwood into Bramall Park. The weather was quite kind to us with only a few spots in the late afternoon. Most caches we did were in good condition and fairly easy to locate. A very pretty walk around the Hall Park then a bag of...
Myself, Felicity, Helen, Clair, and Kevin had a very pleasant wander around Altrincham today, finding seventeen super geocaches including a great WHERIGO cache which took us around many places of historic interest. Steak lunches at The Unicorn were the order of the day.The logs for the "Half of The Lost Parsnips"; Helen, one third of "CnJnA"; Clair and "Scubaclogger"; Kevin, and Him % Her "The Syllogiser"; Donald & Felicity - were signed as...
A lovely long afternoon with Kevin, AKA Scubaclogger, the weather just about held off, although it was very slippy underfoot after all the rain of late. Not too eventful overall, just a nice stroll, with a little puffing and panting now and again. Finished the day off with a pin n pint in Stalybridge.
Had a great day out with Stephen, AKA Grufftymilo, we took the lesser used north track up Hare Shaw and The Knight to the summit of Place Fell. Incredable winds, over 60mph, made it tough going, and both of us were blown over more than once. There was a 'masterplan' to continue to Angletarn Pikes, however, common sense prevailed, and our safety came first ... well ... almost .. The thought of...
