First things first: NEVER DO THIS TRIP IN FRESH SNOW! Oh my god, how I hated the second half of this trip. I had about 13 kg backpack with to train for my alpes crossing and after 25% of the trif it was only deep snow. I am very happy that I had the right shoes, so my feet were neiter cold nor wet. But I started a t 11:00 in the...
This is our standard Sunday afternoon short hiking trip with the kids. It is up the Michaelsberg to the chapel and then down again a differnet way. The way up is first half with stairs, so it's ggod training. Then it's a very steep road. On the top (after about 150 height meters) you are rewarded by a great view where you can oversee Karlsruhe on the left, the Rhein-Plain in the middle...

Unfortunately this was already 25 minutes into the hike and I needed to head back. For sure I will cover this more closely in my future hikes. See a photos of trees older than 1000 years. Amazing - I need to spend more time here and really let it hit me...

I will do this trip again, when I have not much time but need to spend a lot of energy. Especially the last part of the hike seems to be a nice area for downhill...
I hike on this Mountain sometimes in the afternoon to relax from work. Our office is just at the base of the mountain. This trip will take you on rather small paths and is slippery when wet. I recommend hiking shoes. It is not recommended for the elderly or for baby buggys. This time I tired a new path and it lead me to a World War remembering site with lots of...
