Wind or not, it was awesome to just be out there. And although two shipmates got seasick, at least none of us got stung by jellyfish when we went swimming (there were scads of jellies--so many that we instituted a 'jelly watch'). I take thy back, maybe Chris got stung, but she didn't act as if it was all that bad.
After a delicious breakfast at the Red House Cafe, this short walk took us by some of the historical buildings of P.G., down by the beach, and to the free kids science museum.
Fun trip with Ernest and Adelina on a beautiful Saturday evening.
A few notes from along the way: Point Sur, Bixby Bridge, Rocky Creek Bridge, Hurricane Point, horseback riding @ andrew molera -- only place in big sur

In early July 2010, Dave, Pete and I flew into West Yellowstone to spend some time fishing and enjoying the Montana scenery. Upon arrival we met Brian Berry, our good friend from the Squaw Valley Ski Patrol who also guides fly-fishing trips out of Bud Lily's Trout shop in West Yellowstone in the summer. Brian recruited another friend, Travis, to join us and we spent 2 days floating down the Madison river...

Nice grove of redwoods right off of Hwy. 128. There is a trail going down to the Navarro river but we didn't take it due to our dog's enjoyment of running through poison oak.
The largest trees here are just stumps, having been logged probably over a hundred years ago. Quite amazing is the fact that the new growth has come in to the point where the grove now has lots...
Great way to experience the redwoods on the one dog and bike friendly trail in the park.

Quick trip from the M.V. train station. Entered through the main gate and then cruised over to the open-robotics lab located beneath one of the huge wind tunnels.

This was a swell trip to the train.
Wrights lake seems like a nice place for family recreation. There is camping and cabins for rent. No motor boats are allowed on the lake.
