This is actually a loop - my Garmin 305 did on of those well-documented self-shutdowns and ate half the track....About a 75 mile loop up through cost range/logging country. Timber and Vernonia are ex-logging boom-towns. Ride started off across flat farm land of the Valley then we headed up highway 6, turning onto Timber Road at Glenwood. The ride up Timber Road is a gradual ascent along a stream and through forests followed...
Another Morning ride. Cloudy and cool (56oF - 13oC). Andy showed up right at 5:30. All of the other riders apparently hit the "snooze" and we left the hood alone.
classic ride. We do this all the time in the summer. Great for after work. The roads are good, traffic is minimal, and the evening light is wonderful.
Sunrise Ride with Andy - Roy loop 00:56:47

Another sunrise ride. This one with friend Andy. He's training for an olympic distance triathlon. We rode pretty fast - not much time for pix on this one!Again, not traffic. Warm (wore shorts). Fun!
Another early morning ride. Favorite loop. Just a bit later start though still with little traffic. Brought time down a bit...
trying a different route over chehalem mtn. this one sorta worked. there was one stretch of unpaved road... but that's why i don't ride racing tires!my garmin is doing some "spontaneous shut off" these days so i lost some track.
There are about 6 weeks of the year when its light enough (at this latitude) to get on the road by 5:30... it's great: no cars, not much pollen in the air, and what a way to start the day!On this morning's ride I was joined by neighbors. really great.
Mckenzie Pass is one of my favorite rides out of Sisters. The route's a simple out and back up to the pass (or beyond, depending on the day). However, McKenzie is passable for about 3 months of the year. It is closed by snow from about October to June. Before the pass is open in the spring the route is totally cyclable, and it is a great adventure to see if you...
Had very little time to ride, so kept it flat. This is one of my std "one hour" loops.
Roy Loop is the standard after-work ride. Rode it tonight with neighbor Hank and his daughter Denise. A pacific strom hd blown thru hte last couple of days so fields were verdant.
Portland Velo rides every Sat at 9a.m. from Longbottom's coffee shop ~ about 5 miles from my house. Their 40 miler plus a bike commute makes about 50 miles. My first real road ride of the year. (ugh).
Decided to brave to cold and save some CO2. 28oF in the morning!
During cycling season I do this ride once or twice a week. It is perfect for an after work work-out.
This is just a work-day commute. As I left from home this morning it was pleasant enough to experiment with documenting a quotidien activity. My ride to work is fairly short and at midday I habitually head to the local pool for 1500 meters of aqua-laxation. The recorded elevations changes are bogus and likely a result of temperature variation. Enjoy!
Beautiful crisp fall morning. Departed with intent of doing a flat ride but opted instead to throw in some exploratory climbing. Great roads. no Traffic. Nice views.
Simple ride out to the stables to see Alison ride Ceci. Very easy loop
