Suddenly, There I was in front of Buddha Mind!
We'd camped at Cascade, but were a bit wet from the condensation. After breakfast at Carver's we decicded to hang our stuff out to dry. I took the opportunity to make a few casts. Above Lightner Creek the catch and release rules are different. With a surgically fused wrist, I can only do a few casts. I did not wear my boots, yet I did get two fish to rise to my ridiculous fly. It...
My MB 190D get's great mileage, but its doors don't lock. Walmart has security cameras, so sometimes I go there. I do try and scan the parking lot for suspicious folks. I often find interesting folks who live on the road but not in RV's, often very interesting people. This day I saw one pick-up-shell camper parked near the "overlook." I had never stopped to see the interesting place. What's going on about one...
Driving home after work.
"Locals use this trail to get into shape for the Grand Canyon." said obviously experienced hikers leading visiting relatives from back east. We talked about hikes at Lee's Ferry and even Buckhorn, "the world's longest slot canyon."I'm 68 and suffer from several things that younger hikers shouldn't have to cope with. If you can't beet my time and have lots of fun, go to the hospital, which you could get to on...
The trail head (just north west of Walnut Canyon,) information is misleading. Consult the photos of the kiosk attached. A direct hiking route between the Interstate and the Forest Service trail head could be as short as 2.11 miles, and is an easy hike that could could provide a non-commercial, outdoor exercise break for long distance Interstate travelers,
The best parking lot is near the mid point. There are rest rooms, but few would want to rinse their contact lenses at the public facility. The whole trail , 2 miles, is within a few steps of downtown stores and refreshments of all kinds. The old rock work is easy on the eyes.
I tried to get comparable Garmin 305 and Google Android tracks.
Through the station! Yes starting from the rails, and going though the station, and thence to the city park where I have seen tents pitched!
My Ace net-book remembers my sign-in, The LG Android Ally does not have it. I tapped the box to upload later from the cell phone, now can't find out how. You'd think that the Android system could sync with the Stuff that Chrome keeps. The walk from the Frances Short pond on the urban trails, 12 minutes to the city / County library is nice. Some of is NOT on pavement on and sidewalks!...
Forest Road 565 east of Transfer is now an All Terrain Vehicle, (ATV or Off Highway Vehicle,) only road. I used FS road 350 and pitched a tent just west of the pond where I saw a moose one previous evening.
Walked down the West fork of the Mancos.
