Climbing over the rocks and fins, looking at the spires and arches, make this another wonderful hike in Arches National Park. This hike also has some unique and special features that are well worth searching for...

Delicate Arch

Castle Valley, Utah, United States
Hiking | 3.1 miles
Delicate arch is the most popular and most photographed arch in Utah. We were told it was most beautiful at sunset and thus can get very crowded at night; however, on a cloudy night, the crowds were not bad and the people watching was priceless. The salt mountains are the perfect backdrop for this wonderfully powerful, yet truly delicate piece of natural beauty. The natural amphitheatre that surrounds the arch may or may...

Hiking | 6.2 miles
We heard about this trail from a couple we met in Bryce Canyon. To see Naomi's face light up when we mentioned it, led us to believe that this was not a hike to miss - and we were right! This hike was so much fun! The trail runs through a slot canyon so we were sandwiched between the rolling marbled walls of white sandstone tinted red with oxidizing iron. Unfortunately we...

Fairyland
by JosephandKate on Jun 14, 2011
Bryce Canyon, Utah, United States
Hiking | 7.9 miles
Bryce Canyon is supposedly the best national park to see stars, however, we were visiting the park on the night of a full moon so we couldn't actually see many stars. BUT, the moon was sooo bright it lit the path perfectly for a night hike through the fairyland loop. The hoodoos during sunrise and sunset are amazing, but in the moonlight they are truly something else!

Bryce Canyon, Utah, United States
Hiking | 7.1 miles
Hoodoos galore!!! A chilly morning greeted us as we wandered in an about the hoodoos of Bryce Canyon. We began the figure 8 in the Queen's Garden and found Queen Victoria herself! Then continued on the Navajo loop where we also saw the double loop and several other figures. Bryce Canyon is such a beautiful place and there are so many fun things to discover with every turn!

Zion - Watchman & Loop Trail
by JosephandKate on Jun 12, 2011
Watchman Residential Area, Utah, United States
Hiking | 3.5 miles
After a very hot day in Zion National Park we decided to do a sunset hike up the side of Watchman. We got to the top after the sun had descended behind the mountains ahead of us, but the sun-shadow remained for a quite while longer. A beautiful discussion, a beautiful night, and beautiful company...
