Nice January hike with the family
Great post thxgiving hike with Felix (5 yrs old). Great views. Varied scenery: trees, open space with granite slabs. Some patches of snow.
After hiking to Fremont Peak the previous day Lula insisted she wanted to go again. So up we went, and Felix joined us as well. The views were spectacular again. What a morning! We will be back!
First summit with Lula!
Phone empty just before summit.
This is a great family hike with a couple of wading opportunities and creek crossings. The first part of the hike is along the road from our camping spot (#61) to the visitor center. From there we followed the Sequoia interpretive loop, and headed back to our camp using the Iverson trail. There are some pretty steep ups and downs, but not too much for the kids. They had a great time....
Incredible jan 1 weather. Where's winter???
Great place to visit with kids... the boulders make for great climbing for kids of all ages (incl 36 yr olds kids ;) ) and there's a nice trail that connects the various rocks.
Gorgeous December day at Ano Nuevo. We were too late to get on a guided tour to the elephant seals, but we had a great day nonetheless. We'll be back here soon.
On this nice November Sunday we explored Los Trancos Open Space Preserve. We had driven past here many times, but never actually stopped and went out for a hike. The preserve is split by the San Andreas Fault, which is responsible for San Francisco's earth quakes. We followed the San Andreas Fault Trail. The interpretive guide, available at the trailhead, describes features in the terrain caused by the fault that are clearly visible today. The geological...
Nice quick hike with the family. We saw a coyote crossing the trail just behind us (see waypoint), but it was too fast to take a picture.
This morning the Bay Area was enveloped in clouds, and rain showers were predicted throughout the day. We decided to take a chance and it paid off in a big way: when we approached Mt Tam, we broke through the clouds, providing fantastic hiking conditions. There was another layer of clouds above us, so we didn't see the sun, but nonetheless it was a great day for a short hike with the...
On a beautiful Sunday afternoon Felix and i set out to follow kqed's guide to pescadero beach.
We decided to head out a bit farther into the hill than our usual Dish hike. Felix and Lula walked most of the hike, while Victor enjoyed the views from the stroller. The trail is actually pretty steep, making pushing the stroller up on the gravel trail a good exercise. We turned around at the warning sign for Coyotes. A hiker showed us pictures he just took of a big coyote on the...
After watching US - England we headed to cool off in Half Moon Bay on this hot June day. We met up with Keren and Lior, and explored the beach and rocks. Since it was high tide we couldn't access the tidepools, but we did see some sea stars and crabs. This was a great afternoon out with the kids + friends.
A great family hike at Big Basin Redwoods State Park.
Great hike with Felix, 2 yrs 9 months. Nice, sunny day. We parked at the overflow parking b/c the main parking was full. Quite a walk for him, so I carried him on my shoulders for some stretches.
A nice flat hike with the family along Halls Valley Lake in Joseph D Grant County Park. The trail became a bit narrow towards the end, but we managed to squeeze the stroller through.
