The Fox Valley marathon took over the Fox River bike trail this weekend.  It was technically open for bike riders, but the staff working the race were politely asking us to bike somewhere else.  That was ok, we headed down the road to the Enrico Fermi National Accelerator Laboratory. We went for a bike ride throug the Ding Darling Wildlife Refuge.  We started at the visitor center and followed the Wildlife Drive loop.Along the way, we saw Yellow-Crown Night Heron, Red-Shoulder Hawk, Osprey, Little Blue Heron, Snowy Egret, Great Egret, Reddish Egret, Roseate Spoonbill and Rabbit.Much to our delight we saw two hawks actively hunting.  We saw them catch lizards.  One flew over my shoulder and pounced on a critter on the ground just infront...

We went for a bike ride through the Ding Darling Natioal Wildlife Refuge in Sanibel, Florida.  Our bike ride started at the visitor center, we followed the Wildlife Drive until it joins with the Sanibel-Captiva Road.On this ride we saw Cormorant, Little Blue Heron, Osprey, Snowy Egret, and Hawk.
