Sierra Club hike in Alum Rock Park, Boccardo Open Space and Sierra Vista Open Space
led by myself and Fred Kremerskotter. In 15 miles and with 3600ft
elevation gain we explored three parks, admired early-blooming
wildflowers and enjoyed the dry winter weather.

This is hike to Mt Sizer led by Ron Karpel on a mild but mostly overcast day.On Corral Trail and Flat Frog Trail started to Frog Lake. We took Frog Lake and Middle Ridge Trails to Hobbs Road and proceeded on Hobbs Road to Blue Ridge Road. We returned via Jackass Trail and Poverty Flat Road.Pictures of wildflowers and shubs in bloom are shown.

Our annual hike from Sunol Regional Wilderness to Rose Peak in the Ohlone Wilderness and back. This year this hike was led by Bonnie Ruesch in honor of Frank Brogan and Charles Rankin, former hike leaders who have passed away.
Walk on Lighthouse Trail and Rubicon Trail from D. L. Bliss State Park to Vikingsholm.

We parked at Saratoga Gap, briefly hiked the Skyline to the Sea Trail, crossed Hwy 9, hiked the Hickory Oaks Trail, the Long Ridge Road, and the Ridge Trail to Horseshoe Lake where we stopped for lunch. Hike from the South Rim to the North Rim on Mai 31st, 2006. At dawn we took the first bus to the South Kaibab trail, decended to the Colorado, then climbed the North Kaibab trail.The gps unit lost the satellite signal in narrow canyons. The milage and track data are not accurate,
Day hike in Yosemite National Park to Half Dome. I started in the Curry Village parking lot at 5:30am and was on the summit at 9:40am. This way, the uphill part was over before the mid-day heat and there were no lines at the cables. In 2009 no permits to climb Half Dome were needed.The gps track is incomplete; my gps batteries died after 10 miles.
This hike explores much of Wilder Ranch State Park. We pass by the ranch house, climb the grassland and oaks across Hwy 1, hike through redwood groves and descend to Four Mile Beach.
