Hiked in from the NC/VA state line after a ride on the 4WD beach. This is a neat state park with several interesting destinations to see. There is a survey monument from the 1700s, a ghost town, and an old cemetery. Hiked with my dad while on vacation.

Third of three hikes on the day. A simple 3 mile loop.
Second of three hikes on the day. This is a difficult hike due to the length and steep ascent and descent into the gorge. The hike is also rewarding with numerous small waterfalls, steep cliffs, picturesque creeks, and noteworthy vistas. You can also hit the highpoint of Patrick County at the top Rocky Knob.
First of three hikes today. A quick 1 mile hike up to the highest point in Floyd County. This mountain is unique and has a beautiful bald summit with magnificent views. From far away the mountain's namesake is clear as the mountain resembles the curve of a buffalo's back.
Tackled the highpoint of Greene County, which is not the summit of Hazeltop, but rather and indistinct point near the summit.
Family trip out to Styles Falls. Located on a Methodist Camp (Alta Mons) and open to the public to hike for free. Some days are off limits due to camp. Check their website. This is a pretty easy hike, although rocky in a few areas.
