Unusual for Dubai, but the heaves opened and rain flooded the streets. Locals were aghast and out with their cameras. When the rain subsided I took off walking with the tallest building in the world as my destination a the Burj Khalifa. It was Friday, the holy day for Muslims so I caught a bifocals their Imam preaching. It was a long 10 mile walk dodging flooded streets. I didn't go up...

Last night we arrived in Abu Dhabi and went straight to the St. Joseph's Church where we had Mass and I gave two talks to over 2,000 people. It was marvelous. I taught them how to defend their Catholic faith. After a good night sleep I took off running at 10 AM but my right calf muscle was very sore. I started slow and soon it loosened up and off I went....

Our first day in Dubai and it is amazing. Not as interesting as India with its ox carts and exotic streets, but Dubai has its own uniqueness -- like a new and busy city in America on steroids. I ran the waterfront with its gleaming glass buildings then through the market and souks and then through construction sites, past a huge mosque and then back to our apartment.
