A day trip with colleagues.
With Google Map as reference, we tried to explore new routes today. However, we encountered many dead ends. Many trails had been ruined either by earthquakes or typhoons.
After we arrived at Tucheng and unloaded our bikes, ouch! I discovered that I forgot to bring the front wheels. So we went back home to fetch the wheels. We explored Nioujiaokeng today. It is quite a steep slope, up to 15%.
We followed the trails shown on the google map, but the road became narrower. We met a dead end in the end. So we turned back to look for another one. Then the front wheel of my bike was trapped at a rock and my whole body flipped over from the bike. Luckily it didn't cause any serious injury. After snooping around for a while, we finally found a way to make...
We tried to explore a new route today. We met some dead ends or roads that are not consistent with the map, so we spent a lot of time looking for trails. Finally we made a loop back to where we started. This route is quiet and traffic-free, an ideal one for casual biking.
A day out for bike riding has become too luxurious for us after parenting a baby. We managed to squeeze a day or two in a month to do the activity that we had rested for a while. However, the time span is very limited. We could only ride at the area not far away from home.
We tried to explore quiet routes but encountered some dead ends.
The weather was quite nice today. We started to ride at 2:40pm. We tried to explore routes with less traffics, but met the situation that Garmin's Taiwan Topo was not consistent with some roads.

We planned to go hiking today. The weather didn't look good, so we decided to ride in the nearby area instead. We haven't been to Baguashan for years though it is not far away. It was drizzling for most of our ride.
A new express way from Wufong to Beitung was opened yesterday. It saves us a lot of time to drive to Beitung from home. We found Liankeng Lane a quiet area from our last visit for hiking the No. 3 and No. 4 trails. So we rode to Sinshe and made a loop back via Liankeng Lane. We found it hard to believe that there could be so many tourists in...
We started from Guangsing today. We planned to ride along the Kulingjiao Road to cross the Fonghuang Mountain to Sitou and then get back to where we started. We started our trip at one in the afternoon. We met a massive landslide on the road, but the locals guided us to get through the hair-raising cliff. A great deal of the trail either was not charted on...
There was a military base in Sinshe open to the public today. We planned to ride to the base from Taiping. But we took the wrong road and wasted some time. When we got there, the base was closed. Many people went to Sinshe to appreciate the so called "sea of flowers." In reality, it was the sea of motorcycles and cars. The entire place was jammed with vehicles and people. ...
