Hiking Trails and Trips
Trips
This trail combines the Ben Johnson Trail, Coastal View Trail, & The Redwood Creek Trail for an 8 mile loop. The trips begins at the visitor center parking lot of the Muir Woods National Monument. The visitor center is very nice. There is no parking fee but there is an entrance fee of 7 dollars. Parking can get very difficult on the weekends but there is over flow parking on the road leading...
This trail strings together the Matt Davis Trail, Old Mine Trail, and Dispea Trail for a 8 mile loop off Highway 1. It is 1 of 3 coastal loops I uploaded that are just north of the Golden Gate Bridge.Park at the Stinson beach parking lot for free. There are alot of spaces but it still fills up with beach-goers later in the day. I was able to park when I got...
Amazing loop that offers many ocean views. I would estimate 60% of the hike you can see the ocean. This is a very busy area but parking is still FREE. There is a parking lot at the end of the tennessee rd with toilets, but it was overflowing when I went there on a Sunday. Good news is that there is lots of over flow parking, with many spots to simply turn off...
This Track combines several trails to do a 13 mile double loop to the top of Mt Diablo. Here are the trails & fire roads it combines: Bruce Lee Rd, Mitch Rock Trail, Eagle Peak Trail, Prospector's Gap Trail, North Peak Trail, Summit Trail, Juniper Trail, Deer Flat Fire Rd, Meridian Fire Rd, & the Back Creek Trail. The track utilizes as much single tracks as possible. I also tried to avoid going up...

This is an awesome single track, very pleasant, somewhat strenuous, but if you are out this way I would really encourage doing it.Park right where the track starts, there is a parking lot.The entire hike is on a single track, it is pretty easy to follow but it was a little bit overgrown when I went. THere are some cairnes here and there as well.Lots of tree cover (see pictures)NO water, but...
This was another road hike for me that lasted alot longer than I had hoped.Do this:In a caron a bikeon a motorcycleI didn't see any other hikersAgain, this was a road the whole way that anyone can drive on.There is some places for water but you don't want to drink it.Portapottie at the trailheadNo trash

Hiking | 17.7 miles
Getting to the trailhead can be confusing, it kinda appears right in the middle of a subdivision, use google maps and take foothill to trudy way. This entire hike is on a dirt road. It's not even a forest road, it's a dirt road, and I saw at least a dozen cards when I did this hike on a saturday. In other words you could do this whole hike in your car.But then again, some...
Highest Peaks of Cleveland NF #11: Sugarloaf Out n' Back
San Juan Hot Springs, California, United States
Hiking | 12.5 miles
Hiking | 12.5 miles
To get to the trailhead, you need to turn left of the 74 if you are heading East from Orange County. It is a small dirt road immediatly before the San Juan Ranger Station. You do not need a 4 by 4 or high clearance vehicle to drive down this road. It is paved for part of the way and you only have to go 1 mile down the road so don't...
Highest Peaks of Cleveland NF #10: Sitton Out n' Back
Lake Elsinore, California, United States
Hiking | 9.4 miles
Hiking | 9.4 miles
This entire hike is a single track. There is not access to it by dirt bikes or motorized vehicles as far as I could tell.Part of it is an old road, but you can't even tell. There are several different intersections where you can get lost if you take a wrong turn, so it's possible to get lost that way.The trail itself was very visible and wide in certain sections. The very last part is...

Hiking | 1.1 miles
On a Service RoadThere are fences around alot of the equipment the there is public access to the peak.I believe I saw a trail to the top, but ath would started possibly all the way down in Lake Elsinore but I did not take the time to explore it.There was a portapottie, I didn't look if it was lockedNo TrashNo ToiletsYou need a forest service adventure pass to legally park
Highest Peaks of Cleveland NF #04: Los Pinos Out n' Back
Terra Cotta, California, United States
Hiking | 5.3 miles
Hiking | 5.3 miles
Use the same parking spot that I use for Trabuco, part of this hike also follows a portion of that road. When you get the trail/road intersections go up the hill. This is also where the single track begins. There are other ways to get to the top of los Pinos, like the Los Pinos Trail and the Hot Springs Deer Trail. But that is a much longer loop. This is the quickest way...
Highest Peaks of Cleveland NF #03: Trabuco Peak semi-loop
Terra Cotta, California, United States
Hiking | 12.7 miles
Hiking | 12.7 miles
See picture for parking, its off a dirt road that leads into the 74. I drove there in my dieing dodge neon so don't worry if you don't have a 4-wheel drive vehicle the road is gravel and was well maintained when I went. This is a strenuous hike. I recommend you do the loop portion clockwise. This is one of the nicest hikes I have done in the Cleveland national forest. There...
Highest Peaks of Cleveland NF #08: Bedford Peak Out n' Back
Silverado, California, United States
Hiking | 7.5 miles
Hiking | 7.5 miles
This is a very nice single track. Most of the hikes I have done in Cleveland NF are on fire roads so it's nice to finda single track. You may encounter some mountain bikers, but no motorized vehicels are allowed on this track. You need a National Forest Service Adventure Pass to legally park. I recommend buying the $30 dollar yearly pass, it's good in all 5 National Forests in Southern california.Great wildflowers...
Unlike most of the hikes I have done in Cleveland NF, this is NOT a fire road. It is just a ROAD!There were about 10 cars that drove past me while I was on this 5.5 hr hike. So it doesn't seem to be alot of traffic but be advised this is a road that anyone can drive on.Pull onto bedford peak motorway off of Knabe road. I parked in the giant...

Modjeska, California, United States
Hiking | 23 miles
Hiking | 23 miles
This was a brutal day hike I did. I never expected it to be 23 miles in length. I don't recommend this for anyone that isn't training for Mt. Whitney or isn't looking for some serious exercise.I have Franko's Santa Ana Mountains and Chino Hills State Park map It is a very good map of the Santa Ana Mountain range. From what I can tell on the map, this is NOT the...

Hiking | 12.5 miles
Hiking | 12.5 miles
Very Nice Day hike in So Cal.I would strongly encourage you to do the loop clockwise. In other words, hike to the top of Sierra Peak on the east trail and hike down the peak on the west trail (as it appears in the track). The East trail is rather steep in spots. It's very hard to get lost on this trail. Most of it is a fireroad. It is also suitable for mountain biking. ...
Same details as the east loop:Nice quick hike I like to do in the ubran area. Great get away from the city.Park on the road where the track starts. Not
much of a risk loosing the trail on this one, but there are other
trails that can end up taking you somewhere else. Alot of the track is
fireroads. No toilets, No water, Not suitable for backpacking
