Laguna Mountain Rec Area, BLM
A pleasant day hike with my son on a warm summer day. Redwood, Roberts, and Joaquin Miller Park, with a final stop at Chabot Space and Science Center.
A perfect lunch hike with my favorite little girl! She walked the whole route, even up the big hills. Along the way we found snake skins, a turkey feather, and "Eukie" the beetle.
I celebrated National Trails Day out on the trails, naturally! I only had time for a half day hike but tried to make the most of it with several steep climbs in the local trails of the Martinez Hills. It's always a treat to visit Mount Wanda and the trails where John Muir shared his love of nature with his daughters, and an especially fitting location for training hikes in preparation for...
Pogonip, UCSC Open Space, and Wilder Ranch. Awesome :-)
The single track back down to Nejedly from the cemetary is not goood, dead ends in the poison oak brambles. There's a much better route I'll map next time.
Conditioning hike in Briones -- no GPS data route is hand drawn. Beautiful day for hiking/jogging in the woods. Found an unmarked but well established single track up to the peak from Diablo View trail. In Briones, there's always something new to discover!
