Hiking Trails and Trips
Trips
Hiking on the non-traditional side of MTRP in the Spring Canyon area. Followed trails the whole way.
This is a high elevation climb hike at over 3,000 feet and covers a good area of the local peaks and valleys. Note that we did some canyoning for the most southern section near Otay Lakes Road. There is an alternative trail that avoids this. The last way back was a "shortcut" from a path shown on Google and not on trail maps...it was shorter but LOTS of additional elevation, up and down...
A hike out and back in the hills and valleys around Rancho Santa Fe.Watch the start section we took a path up the old river and bushwhacked, you might prefer the way back which was a paved road. Much more accessible.
A night hike with a group of friends in the famously fabulous MTRP. Always a new trail to find. Also plenty of geocaches if you want to find them!
