I spent a few days in Medellín Colombia. In car rides between meetings, I was able to snap some pictures and record the GPS tracks of my visit.Medellín sits in the Aburrá Valley surrounded by hills that make up a section of the Andes Mountains.  The city is at an elevation 5000ft; just North of the equator, the climate is beautiful -- it never really gets too warm or too cold.My hotel...

On our first day of vacation at Sanibel Island, we decided to go for a drive through the Ding Darling National Wildlife Refuge.  This section of the island is a nature preserve where water fowl, by the hundreds migrate to for the Winter. We paid our $5 fee and followed the normal Wildlife Drive route.  Much to our delight, there were 100s of birds!  It was low tide and close to sunset and...

For my business trip to Rio de Janeiro, most of my sightseeing was in the back of the car, driving from my hotel and the office.  I snapped pictures along the way and looked them up on Google Maps using the GPS coordinates from the camera. My driving, mostly coastal, passed by the following areas:  Barra de Tijuca, Sao Conrado Beach, Leblon Beach, Ipanema Beach, Copacabana Beach, Sugarload Mountain, Botafogo Beach, and Flamengo Beach.  IBarra,...

On my way to Auckland, I spent the day in Wellington, New Zealand.  I stayed at the Duxton Hotel on the bay.  I had no time for sight seeing, so here's the GPS tracks from my taxi rides and walking between office buildings.  The weather was great and the natural beauty was striking.  Sorry to be here so briefly.

Driving through Sydney Metro Area: North Ryde, Milson's Point, Alexandria, and Darling Harbour
by kozik on Oct 26, 2008
Sydney, New South Wales, Australia
Driving | 38 miles
I was visiting Sydney on business.  I had very little time for sight seeing or walking around, so I basically took pictures from my taxi cab rides.  My hosts took me to dinner at Milson's Point which sits on the South end of the Harbour Bridge across the water from the Sydney Opera House... by far the most memorable part of my visit; just breath taking.
