Overview: This tour takes you up the highest mountain in Germany the Zugspitze. It is 2962m (9 717 ft) high and on this tour you have to do a hike with 2200m (7 217 ft) to climb. There are some via ferrata, but these parts are safely secured buy iron cables. Up to the Höllentalangerhütte the tour is very suitable for children, because you go through a magic forest and a wet flume.
The rest of the tour is just for hikers with a bit of experience. Also the tour is very longs as it may take you up to 8 hours to climb the Zugspitze.

Tips: The best timing in the year from August to end of September. Check the webcams for snow before you start the tour. In the webcams link check out the 4th camera "Zugspitzgipfel (Blickrichtung Norden zum Eibsee)". If you see snow on the very right side, that is lit by the sun in the morning (10am), then you might have problems doing the last parts of the via f errata. But don't worry about the snow that is in the middle of the picture and in the shadows.
