Overview: In 3.6 miles you'll ascent 2,500 feet to the top of this 4,006 foot peak crossing over Mt. Starr King on the way where you'll find a clearing and the remnants of an old shelter. All that is left is a fireplace. When I was here I was amazed to find moose footprints on the summit ridge unless it was the biggest deer in the whole northeast!

Tips: Starr King Trailhead:
It is located off Route 2 in the town of Jefferson, NH. Starr King Road is 0.4 miles east of Jefferson between Routes 116 and 115. You'll find a lot at the end of the road.

There is a $3 fee to park here for the day.

In winter you may need to start directly from Route 2 if the road isn't plowed all the way. Be aware that if it's dry at the bottom you still may encounter snow at higher elevations... I did (see pics).
