Overview:
Twenty Lakes Loop is a beautiful hike that starts from the Saddlebag lake (10,000ft) and takes you around some of the most amazing alpine lakes. You get great views of the near by peaks: North Peak and Mt.Conness.
This is an easy hike if you are acclimatized to the altitude. You might feel short of breath if you just arrived and started hiking, since the trail head is at 10,000ft.
The hike is about 8 miles but if you take the water taxi across the saddlebag lake, you can cut down a couple of miles. The tickets for the water taxi are available from the Saddlebag lake store at the trail head. You can also get breakfast/coffee at the store.
The hike seemed to be dog friendly as well.
Tips:
Do carry enough water (I took around 1-2 litres) and don't forget your camera.
I think the views are best if the hike is done counter clockwise, but even if you chose to do it clockwise, don't forget to look back once in a while, as the most scenic view might be behind you :)
There were a lot of hikers during the weekend. (A weekday may be a less busier).
