Moderate:
8.1 miles, Half day
Overview:
You have completed the official Trans-Catalina Trail, but your journey isn't over yet! You still need to hike back to Two Harbors to catch the ferry back home or the bus to Avalon.
This is the easiest day of the trip, following a nearly level dirt road that hugs the coastline, winding it's way back to Two Harbors.
You'll pass many private camps and coves along the way. Remember that this is a road you are hiking on. While there isn't heavy traffic, you are likely to encounter the occasional car or truck, so keep to the side.
Once back in Two Harbors you can grab a burger and a cold drink from the grill and swap stories with other travelers while waiting for your ride back to the mainland.
Tips:
If you are taking the bus from Two Harbors to Avalon, start early. There is only one bus a day, and it leaves at noon. You can buy tickets at the visitors center at the beginning of the pier.
