Overview: Tizzano (or Tizza) is a beautiful quiet village on the West coast of Corsica island in the Mediterranean sea.

Tizzano beach is beautiful and ha some accommodations as kayak and windsurf renting, one or two restaurants.

Tizzano fame relies on the fantastic bays and beaches located North of Tizza. There are two ways to discover this beautiful coast, walking or by boat.

1. To visit the coast by boat, the small marina of Tizza rents private boat with or without skipper. Quite expensive but comfortable.

2. The best way to discover the region is by walking however. In this guide, GPS data include all the way from Tizzano to Campomoro. This is a a famous but huge hike. I would suggest to stop at the point of interest 6 (or 7, but it is a very long hike) and come back on the same way.
Note that if you decide to go to Campomoro, it is a two days hike unless you have a car in Campomoro to come back to Tizzano at the end of the hike. It's a long trip by car too...

Tips: To go to Tizzano about 2km after leaving Sartène there's a junction on the N196 where you'll have to turn on the right then you will drive half an hour more.

There are a few hotels and a camping in Tizza. I would recommend this three stars hotel: www.hoteldugolfetizzano.com/fr/.

Try to avoid walking the first part of the hike by doing it by car on a large clay road that starts near the marina. From the parking, the lane is not that easy to find. You'll probably have to look for it for a while or simply trust my GPS data that are accurate.

What to bring. 3-4 L water / people as there is no water point, normal sport shoes, picnic (market near the marina), snorkel material, camera, beach stuffs...
The whole trip to Campomoro is very long and exhausting, think twice before doing it although it is very nice. The best way is to note how much time do you have walked and thus you'll know when to come back considering that you'll be more tired during the return.

Be careful, I stayed on the seashore, but you'll see in the point of interest number 2 that the official lane (that i used on my way back) is on the right. You should follow the official way if you want to avoid loosing time.

Parking

Park at the end of the clay road that starts near the marina. To find the lane use the GPS data, or look for it but be patient, it's quite difficult.

Pay attention to the junction

The official lane is on the right. Walking along the seashore is wonderful but there's no lane in such a way that you are going to waste time if you want to go as far as possible in the direction of Campomoro before returning to Tizzano.

cala longa

Cala longa is the first beach on the way, 20 minutes from the start. You may stop on the way back as it is a nice swimming point.

Tivella, a wonderful tiny bay

The second beach on the way is the famous Tivella. Sometimes touristic boats coming from Propriano or Ajaccio let people on the beach for the day in such a way that the beach may be crowded.
Shallow crystal clear water and short distance (45 minutes from the parking) make of Tivella a very good aim for familial hike.

Senetosa

Senetosa is a good place for a short break and is a nice viewpoint. There's a genovese tower in the background and a lighthouse on the top of a small hill. Good shadow point.

Cala de Conca

Cala de Conca is a wonderful calanque located about 1 hour from Tizzano. It is a beautiful swimming point with shallow water.
Have a look on the famous "sea turtle" rock (picture).
Once you are done with Cala de Conca, if you are with small children I would suggest to come back to Tizzano on the same lane. It is already a long way done...
The lane is still along the seashore if you want to go on on Campomoro direction and some more beautiful landscapes and beaches are waiting for you...

Cala d'Agulia

About 1 hour from Conca bay you will arrive in Cala d'Agulia. This breathtaking small beach is one of the world's most beautiful bays.
Agulia is located quite far from Capomoro and Tizzano, the two nearest villages, so that it is very wild and desert.
During the very high season (middle of July to middle of August) there are some private boats but the beach keeps its delightful quiet atmosphere.
Just the paradise!
Unfortunately, you will have to keep in mind that there is a quite long way back. The sunset is quite late (9-10pm) and the sunrise quite early (5-6am) so you may choose to have a very long day.

There are two alternative endings to go to Campomoro, either along the seashore or up the hill to enjoy a scenic view. Both are great so it is up to you.

Arrival in Campomoro

The lane along the seashore ends in front of the genovese tower.
The last part is very beautiful with the view in the genovese tower.

We did this hike starting from Campomoro going to Tizzano. It was wonderful!! We slept at the Senetora tower, swam at Cala di Conca and Tivella. We saw only a few people during the trip. Tip: take enough water in your backpack !!! We had only 3,5L for 2 persons and it wasn't enough.

Tizzano is among my favourite places in Corsica. This small village offers all you need in walking distance: restaurants, one or two small shops, a few hotels and a camping. But nothing that disturb the wildness of the place. Perfect for families, kayaking and walking along the coast...
