Overview:
This guide will lead you to the bluest lake you've ever seen, a summit with an enormous view over the valley Val d'Anniviers and one of the nicest glaciers.
It's a pretty big hike but it's realy worth it, the views are just great from the beginning to the end.
Tips:
- Do not attempt the hike when the weather is not ideal, much snow will result in a dangerous trail.
- You can eat lunch at Cabane de Moiry, eating with a tremendous panorama
- When returning to the starting point you can also take the high trail back instead of the trail along the lake (lower path).
The starting point of this hike is at the dam(barrage).
It is situated near Grimentz, follow direction "Lac de Moiry" until you reach a tunnel, go in it and you'll find a parking lot.
This Cabane is situated above the Moiry glacier, from there you'll get an tremendous view over the glacier witch you can almost touch with your fingertips.
Very nice hike with many panoramic views. The lake itself is just one of the most beautiful lakes i've ever seen. From the summit Sorebois you get an amazing view over the valley, recommend it to everyone! At Cabane de Moiry the glacier looks so close. Really beautiful. Visited on Aug 17, 2010
