Length: 9.9 miles / 15.9 km
Duration: Half day

Overview: Use this track to explore the northern side of MacDunn on your bike. This guide takes you up a 1,500 ft climb to the top of a peak and then down some really fun, yet technical, singletrack. You'll have the option at POI #5 to cruise back down the road to your car or climb up a little ways again to explore another section and loop back to your vehicle.

Tips: The Singletrak descent from the top gets really muddy in the spring and fall so please try to avoid taking this in wet conditions to cut down on erosion.

Directions:
From Lewisburg on Highway 99 head West on Lewisburg Ave towards the Lewisburg Saddle. Take a right onto Sulphur Springs Road and follow it until you get to the car pull-out.

Here you will find a small parking area as your trailhead. From here jump on your bike and head down Sulphur Springs Road bearing left up behind the gate ahead of you. You'll be climbing this road for 1,500 feet.

Keep Going Up!

Keep following the forrest road up the mountain to your right. You're going up to 2,000 feet. If it is in the fall you may encounter snow!

The Top & Singletrack

When you get to the highest point look around and use the track in this guide to find a hard to see singletrack heading steeply down through the woods. This is a pretty technical descent so if you feel your skills aren't up to it, just head back down the road to your first junction (#2).

Use the track

Use the track in this guide to make your way down the steep hillside. You'll cross another forrest service road but will eventually pop back out to the road you initially climbed up (POI #5).

Return or Go On?

Once you pop back onto your ascent gravel road you can decide to cruise back down to your car or climb again back up to POI #2 and check out another way back to our vehicle.

Explore!

There are a bunch of short loop trails of singletrack in this area. You can choose to explore them as I did or continue on the single track towards Baker Creek. Keep your eye out for tons of rough skinned newts!

Washout

This may have been fixed since I was here in 2007. If it hasn't been backtrack about 50 feet and you'll find a trail that takes you above the landslide safely.
