Overview:
The peak of 2973 meters Punta Suelza has one of the broadest view of the Pyrenees. Access from the "Collado de la Cruz de Guardia" has no difficulties except those arising from the altitude. Some parts are aerial, but no hazardous steps.
Leave the car at the junction of "Gistain's tracks and Serbeto's track, to 1908 meters, so the rise will be of 1066 mts. We will follow one of the many trails up the Collado de la Cruz de Guardia. Initially by a marked path, which is slowly gaining altitude, leaving the meadows, entering on a pine grove black.
We overcame the pine little forest and continue again the "tasca" (alpine meadows), we went to the "Ibones de Barleto" (mountain lakes) , of a magical bluey green.
Our route continues between the stone quarries and rock outcrops, to give sight Ibón Cao. Which is surrounded by rocky walls except for the SW .A group of "Sarrios" (Rupicapra Rupicapra) down, so suicidal, to the lake.
We now turn to the east, the last pieces of the stone quarry, lead us to the top.
From the top we see a vast and magnificent view to the many peaks in the area: Monte Perdido, Posets, La Munia, The Sword ...
At the foot to the north, reservoirs and mountain lakes of Urdiceto ..
Looking to the SE over the Col de la Cruz Sentinel, are the mountains of Plan, and Basa de la Mora (lake).
We can see marmots, vulures, eagles, kestrels

This is a great hike - a great mountain and said to be "easier" by the south face than the north (Urdiceto). But I don't remember a "pine grove" on the ascent. There wasn't a "tavern" either! What is the "hill" that is "located at 2126m? Do you mean the Puerto Cruz de Guardia? Don't mean to critizise this account - I'm new here :) Visited on Aug 28, 2011
