Seaside beach Volleyball Tournament

When - SECOND FULL WEEKEND IN AUGUST

Join us for some good green fun! At THE world's LARGEST amateur beach volleyball tournament.

Players and spectators enjoy the clear ocean air of one of the World’s most beautiful beaches as described by National Geographic. The beach is home to the Seaside Beach Volleyball Tournament to be played for the 30th consecutive year in August of 2011. It is the largest amateur beach volleyball tournament in the world with over 800 teams playing on 100 plus courts. Divisions range from parent and child to Masters 55+, along with our Men, Women and Co-ed Open Divisions that feature current and retired AVP ranked players. Seaside Beach Volleyball is consistently the highest ranked and most visited amateur beach volleyball tournament around! Our teams travel from as far as the East Coast and Hawaii as well as Canada. Our tournament is known throughout the beach volleyball world and is mentioned by many AVP players as “the one to go to.” And, Seaside Beach Volleyball is as organic as it comes… no bleachers, no required team shirts, no plastic clapping devices and no entry fee for spectators! Best of all when the tournament is over there is no trace of it left on the clean white sands.

The Pacific Power Parade of Lights

When - Thanks Giving Weekend Friday

The Pacific Power Parade of Lights and lighting of the community tree begin this special, old fashioned season. The musical tree of dancing lights is set in the pocket park at the west end of the Carousel Mall.

The Parade begins on Necanicum Drive at 1st Avenue at 7pm and moves on to Broadway to the tree in the park. Lighted floats, family’s, pets and community groups are decked with festive lights and parade watchers join the end to gather around the tree and sing carols.

Santa and Mrs. Santa talk with children. Hot cider, cocoa and cookies are served and Santa’s elf hands out gifts to children to close this joyful evening of Christmas by the sea.

Muscle And Chrome Hot Rod Event

When - Join us every Father’s Day weekend at the coast always the first weekend after Labor Day.

Show quality vehicles from ’60-’78 and Factory Performance vehicles ‘79 to current year.

Seaside Builders Showcase Vehicles will be displayed by some of the top Hot Rod and Restoration shops in the Northwest.

Enjoy the sights and sounds and stroll the streets of our beautiful coastal town. Two awards will be given out for this group including the Seaside Participant’s Choice Award and the Seaside People's Choice Award.

Seaside Archapello & Barbershop Cabaret

Seaside Oregon – Boasting The Finest Barbershop Quartet Show Right Here On The Oregon Coast. The Event Is Produced by The Seaside Chamber of Commerce In Conjunction With QCED (Quartet Champions of the Evergreen District). Each of the acts are current or previous champions of QCED

This is a three day festival that begins on a Friday afternoon and runs until Sunday afternoon. There is also a special "after hours" party that takes place Sunday evening after the Festival Closing Ceremonies.

This music filled event takes place in Seaside Oregon located on the beautiful North Oregon coast, and is dedicated to preserving the swinging sounds of a "true American" musical art form. Whether it's Ragtime, Dixieland, Traditional Jazz, or Swing, the genres of this great music are many and diverse.

We strive to present a Festival, which showcases the traditional, while at the same time presenting musicians who are original and fun.

We invite you to come to the Festival where you will undoubtedly find that your toes will begin tappin' to the music. You may even find yourself swaying to a romantic tune on the dance floor, if not swinging to an up tempo beat.

Seaside Downtown Wine Walk

When - In the spring always the first weekend after Mothers Day. In the fall join us the second week of November.

Experience Award-Winning Downtown Seaside and enjoy Award-Winning Oregon Wines!

Oregon Wineries will be showcasing their best wines and Downtown Seaside will be showing off their wonderful businesses! There will be complimentary appetizers and live music, too!
A commemorative event wine glass and ID bracelet will be required for wine tasting.

Must be 21 or over to participate. Wineries will be charging nominal tasting fees. A map listing the participating wineries and businesses will be available at the 3 ID check stations.

Wine glass sales and ID check stations will be open from 1pm-7pm on event day for pre-sales and the wine tastings will start at 3pm. Downtown Seaside invites you to “Come Wine With Us!”

Seaside Wheels n Waves Classic Car Event

When - Join us every September at the coast always the first weekend after Labor Day.

Vehicles from all over the Northwest bring us their show quality vehicles from ‘62 and older.

Seaside Builders Showcase Vehicles will be displayed at the Convention Center by some of the top Hot Rod and Restoration shops in the Northwest. Admission is free.

Two awards will be given out for this group including the Seaside Participant’s Choice Award and the Seaside People's Choice Award. Voting will conclude at 4pm on Saturday. Help us pick the top cars built in the N.W.

Saturday and Sunday, 10am to 6pm –500 plus cars are expected to line downtown streets and Show & Shine! City streets will host Vendor Alley.

Please note that our awards are chosen by car enthusiasts, not judges. In Seaside we see some of the top cars and trucks in the Northwest.

Hood To Coast Relay

When - The Weekend Before Labor Day

Known as "The Mother of All Relays", HTC is the largest relay in the world, hosting a capped team limit for the past 20 years, and has filled on "Opening Day" of registration for the past 13 years! HTC is also the longest running relay event in Oregon , and hosts the largest beach party on the west coast!

Where does the race Start?
Scenic Timberline Lodge (elevation 6,000 ft.), on top of Oregon's tallest mountain, Mt. Hood (11,234 ft).

Where does the race end?
The finish line for the race is on the sandy beach at the Pacific Ocean, in Seaside, Oregon.

What is the distance?
The race spans 197 miles, from the top of Mt. Hood to the Pacific Ocean at Seaside.

The Seaside Chamber of Commerce in cooperation with the Oregon Brewers Guild will present “Pouring At The Coast,” a craft beer tasting and food pairing festival at the Seaside Convention Center in March.

The event debuted in 2010 as the “Beach Bite & Brew” and offered 32 brews from 14 Oregon Breweries. 2011 saw more people and just as many ales offering differing tastes.

The tasting will feature two parts. The first is a Brewer’s Dinner at a local Restaurant in Seaside, limited to 50 people, on Friday featuring a five course dinner paired with appropriate craft beers. Reservations are requested.

The Saturday Tasting and Food Pairing will be held at the Convention Center from 4 pm to 9 pm Guests will have the opportunity taste a variety of Oregon craft brews, sample some local chefs’ presentations and purchase a variety of local food specialties and enjoy the entertainment. .
