Overview:
This walking loop around the Wapato Access Greenway State Park on Sauvie Island is a great destination year-round for bird watching. This loop will take you to a viewpoint over a marshy area where you may see herons and various song birds, then to Hadley's Landing over the Multnomah Channel then around the north end of the park back to the car. Bring a camera with a good zoom lens for wildlife shots.

After crossing onto Sauvie Island via the bridge travel north on Sauvie Island Road past the intersection with Reeder Road. Continue pas the Ferry Road boat ramp turnoff and stop when you see the sign for the Wapato Greenway and the parking lot on the left. You'll want to stop at the general store on the east side of the island bridge to pick up a parking permit for the day.
