Overview: This very VERY long day will gain you 5 official 4,000 foot peaks in New Hampshire. You'll start off on the North Twin Trail to get both Twins (North 4,761' and South 4,902') then join the Bondcliff Trail over the ridge to get Mt. Guyot, 4,526' West Bond, 4,698' Bond, and 4,265' Bondcliff then return the same way you came. This means that you will actually have climbed over 10 peaks because you have return over the ones you've already climbed to get back to your vehicle. The trail up the Twins is well maintained and so is the trail over the ridge to the various peaks which remains above treeline for almost the entire trip.

Tips: Haystack Road Trailhead:
Haystack Road heads south from Route 3 three miles west of where it crosses 302. This about 6 miles from I-93. Follow Haystack road until you come to the trailhead. If you see any rugged roads going off to the right stay to your left until you reach the trailhead.

There is a $3 fee to park here for the day.

North Twin Summit

This summit is wooded but there is a ledge on the summit that faces west for views towards Garfield.

South Twin Summit and Junction

Here you find the open summit of South Twin and also the junction between the Garfield Ridge trail heading to the West and continuing on the Twinway trail towards Mt. Guyot.

Mt. Guyot & Zealand Junction

Although this is not officially a 4,000 footer on any peak list because it is too close to Zealand to be considered a seperate peak it is still over 4,500 feet and has a nice open summit. If you continue East on the trail from Mt. Guyot you'll be able to also nab Mt. Zealand. If you have the energy I'd suggest doing this so you don't have to come back on a seperate trip for that mountain. We didn't realize how close it was when we did this trip so we continued on instead. Besides a seperate Trip up to Zealand (see my Zealand Guide) will bring you past awesome waterfalls and an AMC hut which are both worth seeing.

West Bond Summit

This 4,526' peak offers great views towards Bond and Bondcliff from its summit ledges.

Mt. Bond Summit

This bare summit is 4,698' tall and offers great views towards Bondcliff south down the trail.

Bondcliff Summit

The summit of this peak is my favorite on this trip as it offers great photo opportunities of you and your friends sitting on the edge of massive cliffs.. if you have the stomach to do so!
