Altes Museum

The Museum of Ancient World was built between 1823 and 1830 according to plans by Karl Friedrich Schinkel and counts as one of the most significant examples of classical architecture. In the treasure chamber of the museum hosts a collection of gold treasury of the ancient Greeks and Romans. Furthermore, one of the most expressive sculptures of the ancient world, the spear bearer by Polykleitos, can be seen here.

Neues Museum

After the complex renovation the New Museum became a piece of art itself. Here the treasures of the old Egypt can be seen. One of the most well-known and worthwhile busts among this treasure is the Nefertiti.

Alte Nationalgalerie

The Old National Gallery hosts masterpieces of the 19th century. Among the most important artworks are “The Monk by the Sea” by Casper David Friedrich, “The Balcony Room” by Adolph von Menzel and “Two Princesses” by Johann Gottfried Schadow, which depicts the Princesses Luise and Friederike.

Pergamon Museum

At the Pergamon Museum the visitors can experience the ancient times. Here awaits an exciting time travel to old times. Among the highlight of the museum belong the imposing reconstructions of the Pergamon Altar, the Roman market gat of Milet and the Babylonian Ishtar Gate.

Bode Museum

The imposing three-winged building of the Bode-Museum creates the perfect location for the collection of Byzantine Art, which presents art of the Western Roman and Byzantine Empires from 3rd to the 15th century. A special highlight of this exhibition is the apsidal mosaic made out of gold from Ravenna, from the church of San Michele in Africisco.
