Overview:
This peak is thickly wooded at the top but there is a great section of exposed ridge near the top and an observation tower at the top that offers 360 degree views so despite the woods you'll have great views on this hike.
Tips:
Signal Ridge Trailhead:
This Trailhead is found two miles down Sawyer River Road off of 302 which is south of Crawford Notch.
Here is where you'll turn onto the Signal Ridge Trail from the Carrigain Notch Trail. Keep an eye out for good swimming holes around this area on your way out if it's a hot day too!
Climb up onto the observation deck. You'll have great views north to Crawford Notch and south to the Tripyramids. Turn around and head back down the same trail.
Long trail up where everything is the same for the first few hours. We followed the river and had fun splashing in it. Once you split from the river, you start going up a hill that's steep yet boring because it has the same view for the nest hour... you are on a very narrow path, tall trees and all you with a dozen sharp turns and it seems like it will never end.
Once you get to the top. It has amazing view of all the mountains around you. Visited on Jun 21, 2012
