Overview: Mt. Bethel the very prominent mountain that pops up right before you reach the tunnel heading west on I-70. It was a great hike with amazing views! Since it is not a very well known peak, there is no real trail to the top. We chose this route thinking it would be a little easier and a less steep way to the top. It took us around 2 hours to reach the top, allowing us to cruise up there at a pretty steady pace.

Tips: You should be fine with the basic hiking essentials. Food/Water/etc. You may want to bring pants and a jacket, it could get windy at the top.

Parking

Exit I-70 for US-6 and turn to go under the interstate. From here it will look like your about to get on the interstate the wrong way, get on the dirt road just to the left of the interstate exit. Continue down the dirt road and park somewhere by the fence. Your hike will start here. As you get further up you will pass a creek and a fenced area for storage. The trail should continue up to the left.

The Trail

Turning off the trail.

So we heard this trail eventually ends just up the way from this point. We decided to turn off and start our way up. The map shows a large rocky section. This is where we headed up.

The I-70 summit is a little lower then the actual true summit. This is the peak you see heading west on I-70, which is not the actually summit.
