Overview: This is an easy hike appropriate for young children or older parents to get them out into the woods for some nice views. The overlook is on Palmertown Mountain.

Tips: Directions to State Park:
Take exit 17 off I-87 and take Rte. 9 south just a short distance before turning right onto Old Saratoga Road following signs for the state park. Park your car near the park office building in the parking lot and head off on the Red Oak Ridge Trail.

Find a place to park in this area, either off the road or at the park office parking lot. Across the road from the parking lot will be the start of the trail. You will be starting off on the the Red Oak Ridge Trail which you will follow by looking for red blazes on the trees. Use the gps track in this guide to find the start of the trail.
