Overview:
This hike offers an abundant and diverse plant life as you switchback through shady, woodland chaparral. Oaks, cottonwoods, redbuds and dogwoods are skirted with a variety of flowers in the spring like brodiaea, madia, lilies and Chinese houses. The trail ends at "Marble Falls" cascading over polished marble.
Tips:
The hike is best taken in the spring or fall months. You must be able to identify poison oak before you go. There are several areas where it crosses the trail and can be prolific at times. Exercise extreme caution around the river and waterfalls. The approach is slippery and the water can be deadly.
