Overview: The trail is situated in the southeastern part of Lubovnianska vrchovina (Lubovnianska Uplands). The trailhead is directly under the majestic Lubovniansky hrad (Lubovniansky castle). It starts with a long and undemanding ascent to Osly (the main viewpoint). Then it slowly descends through Marmon to Hajtovka village.

The easy trip is about 13.9 km, gaining about 230 m in elevation. It generally takes about 3:10 hours for an average skier to complete the trip, allowing just necessary time for refreshment stops.

This was the official ski trail # 5 organized during the Slovak Winter Tourist Convention in 2011, which hosted about 1000 participants accommodated in Lubovnianske Kupele, near Stara Lubovna.


Tips: Tips: Bring some drink and food supplies as there are no chances for replenishment on the trail.

Options. Alternately, instead of skiing, you may hike this trail if the trail is clear of the snow.

Caution. In low altitudes, especially when approaching the destination village, there may be less snow. So take off your skis in time in order to avoid any injuries or damaging your skis.

Lubovniansky hrad (630 m)

Make the parking lot under Lubovniansky hrad (the Castle) in Stara Lubovna (Slovakia) your trailhead. Start skiing directly from the parking lot in direction of Osly so that you pass the castle on your right.

The next POI (Osly) is about 5.3 km. The trail climbs steadily but slowly, mainly through the forest. Enjoy occasional views of the Belianske Tatra, High Tatra and on the castle predominating the surroundings. Once you reach the highest point on the trail and see a big white cross you are at Osly.

Osly (859 m)

Take a refreshment break and enjoy nice views. Get ready for a long and slow descent through lovely surroundings of Lubovnianska uplands.

The next POI (Hliniska) is about 1.5 km. Continue in the same direction you came from Osly, mostly through open space until you come to Hliniska, which is marked by a signboard.

At Hliniska signboard, turn right alongside the forest.

The next POI (Sedlo Marmon) is about 2.2 km. While on the trail, enjoy lovely forest and open-air sections till you come to Sedlo Marmon, which is marked by its signpost.

Sedlo Marmon

From Sedlo Marmon, your destination is about 4.9 km. After leaving Sedlo Marmon (Marmon Saddle), you will move practically through open space all the time. Enjoy excellent views on the surroundings including Belianske Tatra and High Tatra. Continue towards Hajtovka village. You will recognize the village easily by its characteristic church. When approaching the village, take extreme care on the quantity of the snow. Do not hesitate to take off your skis in time if there is lack of snow.
