It has many activities available. From the North entrance, you can access the beach, playground, boat launch, picnic tables, and grills. From the south entrance your near paddle boat rental, tables, and a beautiful bridge out over the lake. Kruidenier Trail can be accessed from either the North or South entrance.

Tips: Along the trail you will find benches to stop and rest, garbage cans, emergency call boxes, and doggie waste disposal bags. It's a very nice trail across a bridge and around the lake. It has a nice view of the lake and of downtown Des Moines.  Grays Lake is a nice place to spend an afternoon with friends and/or family. However, due to it's location and abundance of activities, it is very popular and usually crowded. So if you're looking for somewhere more quiet, peacefull, and secluded you might try elsewhere.
