Overview: A quick stroll along this beach will show great examples of the shoreline in Olympic National Park. There are towering seastacks, piles of driftwood logs, and an amazing array of wave-polished stones of all colors.

Tips: Watch out for the tide and sneaker waves, the water here is cold.

Keep an eye out for eagles, they seem to frequent the shore here.

Sea Stacks Views

Views of the seastacks on the beach, remnants of the headland cliffs.

Beach Hike

Hiking along the beach, make sure you watch out for waves and driftwood.

Cairns

In several places, there are cairns on the logs. Don't count on them for navigation, they're just for looks. Some get fairly elaborate and artistic.

Sneaker Waves

Due to the natural interaction of waves from different directions and frequencies, occasionally there are "sneaker waves" created from the superposition of several waves on each other. When it happens at the shoreline, you can get wet quickly!

Small Seastack

This small seastack has a hole in it that frames a nice view of the waves. Be sure to check it out.

Bigger Seastacks and Driftwood Logpile

The combination of seastacks and the mouth of the freshwater stream creates a trap for driftwood logs.

With an abundance of flat stones around, this is a perfect place to work on thatt stone-skipping technique.
