From the parking lot, head southeast and cross over the bridge that goes over Highway C-470.

Shortly after crossing the bridge over highway C470, there is a single track off to the right. It splits almost immediately. You can go either way, as they both hook back up in a short while. In fact, they are both called the Green Mountain Trail. For this ride, I opted to go to the left.

The trails hook back up here, as well as with the Rooney Valley Trail. Continue on the Green Mountain Trail. The trail is a rolling trail that essentially parallels Alameda Parkway.

Congratulations, you have survived the main climb for this ride. You are now at the intersetion with the Green Mountain Trail, which is essentially a jeep road at this section. Go left onto the Green Mountain Trail.

At the apex of the hairpin turn, continue straight onto the singletrack, leaving the Green Mountain Trail and continuing onto the Summit Loop Trail. Do not start descending down the Green Mountain Trail; this would be the wrong direction.

You are at the top of the Box O' Rox Trail. This is probably the most technical part of the entire ride. As you descend and get bounced around by the rocky singletrack, you will understand the name of the trail.

Continue on the newly rerouted portion of the Box O' Rox trail. This section is much less rocky.
