Overview: This includes two of my favorite hikes in Marin. Palomarin to Alamere and Southeast Trail up to the East Peak of Mt. Tam.

Alamere Falls:
The Hike to Alamere Falls is a great hike in Marin County, California. The trail starts at the Palomarin Trailhead. The whole hike is pretty flat so it is an easy hike. The first part of the Hike is high along cliffs that drop down to the ocean. After about a mile the Trail will cut inland passing two small lakes (Bass Lake and Pelican Lake).

Mt. Tam:
This is a moderately difficult climb of Mount Tamalpais in Marin County, California. The top offers an incredible view of the surrounding landscape, this is one of the best views in the Bay Area. The climb is short but has a large elevation gain during the hike.

Abbotts Lagoon:
This is a pretty easy out in Point Reyes, California. It is a great place to go to a quiet beach if you aren't against having to hike a little bit for it. Along the way there are lots of flowers, wildlife, and nice view points of the lagoon.

Bon Tempe Lake:
This guide shows one of the possible routes that is possible at Bon Tempe Lake. Bon Tempe Lake offers a wide variety of activities that are possible. The north side offers an open area, while the other sides over trails that travel through wooded area. Once you get to the dam the trail continues all the way around the lake, but this guide shows joining back to where I started along the road. The dam has a great view of both Bon Tempe Lake and Alpine lake as well as the surrounding mountains including Mt. Tam.

Cascade Falls:
This hike is a very short and easy hike to a pretty good waterfall. It is a good place for a family to go for a hike. The waterfall is best after rain during the winter and early spring. Parking can be kind of annoying so you might have to walk a little ways.

Terra Linda and Sleepy Hollow Ridge:
This is an easy hike with a good view of parts of Marin. There are many different options that you can take to change the experience of your hike. This guide shows one of the many options and tells you about possible alternative you could take. I found this to be a good running place since it has a good view the whole way and the ups and downs make it a better workout.
