Gold Bar Rim 4x4 Trail, Moab, UT

Overview: Popular hard-core trail with great view at top. Often driven downhill in opposite direction described here as continuation of Golden Spike. (Available as FunTreks eGuide on EveryTrail.) Open all year weather permitting. Best time to go: Spring and Fall. Located on BLM land. For current status call Bureau of Land Management, Moab Field Office at (435) 259-2100.

Rating:

Difficult. Many difficult ledges, especially at the top. For modified vehicles with very high ground clearance, lockers, large tires and good articulation. Follow painted white gold bar symbols and tire marks.
