Overview:
The Fertile Sand Hills is a 640-acre natural area open for public recreation year round. Miles and miles of scenic recreational trails allow visitors to enjoy the many natural wonders of this secluded area. Primitive camping is also available.
The Sand Hills offer spectacular overlooks and rolling landscapes unusual to the Red River Valley area. This short detour to the Sand Hill River Recreation Area and the Agassiz Environmental Learning Center will have you coming back to explore the wonders of time and nature.
Groomed cross-country ski trails in the winter, snow shoeing, a van tour can also be arranged, see websites for more info.
Tips:
Bring your camera, binoculars and hiking shoes. Great picnic area overlooking the bridge with free wi-fi near the classroom.
