Overview:
This hike is a short trip to some small lakes located just below Mt Yoran. Divide Lake is known for its great reflections and views of Mt Yoran and Diamond Peak. There are several "primitive" camping sites on the west and north sides of the lake. Approximately .8 miles up the trail from Divide lake, there are great views of the Diamond Peak Wilderness. This trail also hooks up with the Pacific Crest Trail.
Round trip is approximately 8.4 miles.
To get to the trailhead- From highway 58 1.3 miles east of Oakridge, turn right on Hills Creek Reservoir. After .5 miles on Road 21, continue straight at an intersection onto Road 23. Follow this route for 15.6 miles of pavement and another 3.9 miles of gravel to a pass beside Hemlock Butte.. Turn left at the hiker Symbol sign. Drive up the spur road to the Vivian Lake trailhead parking area.
Tips:
In most cases, the best time to take this trek is mid August to September to avoid the Mosquitoes. Bring plenty of Bug just in case.
