You can easily stretch this tour out by taking the time to explore the themed lobbies of each Disney resort or grab a beverage anywhere along the boardwalk and enjoy the lake view.

Tips: Park at Disney's Boardwalk Inn's self-parking area—tell the attendant you're there to visit the boardwalk and it's free. Afternoon to early evening is the perfect time to do this itinerary.

Disney's Boardwalk Inn

Park here and make Disney's Boardwalk Inn resort your first stop. Themed to capture the feel of the '20s and '30s Eastern Seaboard, this resort has plenty of displays and interesting decor to look at.

Once outside on the boardwalk area, there are midway games to play for prizes. After 7pm on weekends, there are also boardwalk buskers, live entertainers who run the gamut from sword swallowers and jugglers to magicians and strolling musicians.

During the day, rent a four-seat surrey bike and pedal the approximately one-mile path around Crescent Lake.

ESPN Club

Located at Disney's Boardwalk, this restaurant will be a hit with sports fans. Enjoy a meal while watching the games on more than 100 TVs throughout the place. There are even TVs in the bathroom, so you don't miss a moment.

Kids will enjoy the sports-themed arcade games; occasionally the network films live from here.

On big game days, expect crowds and arrive at least an hour before start time.

Disney's Beach Club Resort

Stop for a treat at the resort's Beaches and Cream restaurant, themed after a classic 1950s soda shop.

Cool down with a root beer float or grab the gang and attempt to defeat the Kitchen Sink, a concoction made with eight scoops of ice cream served with all the toppings in the house and a whole can of whipped cream. It's also covered in cherries.

Disney's Yacht Club Resort

Next door to Disney's Beach Club is Disney's Yacht Club, and it's here that you'll find Bayside Marina.

Rent pontoon and canopy boats for a gentle cruise around Crescent Lake or take turns on a rental sea raycer (miniature powerboat), which go a little faster.

On Wednesday mornings, kids ages 4-10 can climb aboard the Albatross Treasure Cruise. They'll visit various ports of call around the lake and enjoy a box peanut butter and jelly lunch (substitutions can be made for kids with nut allergies, if alerted in advance). A fee is charged for this activity.

This resort is also a stop on Walt Disney World's free water shuttle service that goes between Disney's Hollywood Studios and Epcot. Hop on board for a free cruise around the lake, and to get between this resort and the Walt Disney World Swan and Dolphin resorts.

Disney's Fantasia Gardens Miniature Golf Course

There are two sides to Disney's Fantasia Gardens, both offering 18 holes of fun.

The entire theme is from Disney's classic "Fantasia" film, and offers dancing hippos and and xylophone stairs, along with the requisite sand traps and water hazards.

To get here, take the free water shuttle to the Walt Disney World Swan and Dolphin Resort and walk from there. Reverse this path to get back to Disney's Boardwalk.

Disney's Boardwalk

If this tour takes you into the early evening, it's possible you may be able to take in the fireworks presentation from Epcot's popular "Illuminations" show for free.

The eastern end of the boardwalk area and the pedestrian bridge that crosses over the lake to Disney's Beach Club Resort are the best viewing areas to take in the nightly show that starts around 9pm inside the park.
