Overview: This is a great hike or bike ride just outside of town. You'll have great views from the top over Corvallis and towards Mary's Peak to the west. I commonly bike this and it is a great trail for beginners to mountain biking as the trails are open year round, well maintained, and not technical.

Tips: Trailhead:
Follow 99 north out of town and turn left onto Walnut blvd headed west. Take a right onto Highland and drive about a quarter mile until you see Lester Ave on the left. Take that left and continue to the end of the road to the parking area.

Chip Ross Park

Park here and head off into the woods on staying on the trail to the left. This may be muddy in places in the wet season. Follow signs for Dimple Hill via Dan's Trail.

Dimple Hill Summit

If you hit it at the right time of year you'll be greeted to large bushes of the invasive Himalayan Blackberries. After relaxing for a bit continue on down the backside of Dimple hill to an intersection of forest service roads. Follow the one down the hill to the right. You'll follow it for a ways mostly descending. Once you start slightly climbing you'll know you're close to the turn off for Horse Trail.

The turn off is very clearly marked. This will be a really fun descent if you are on a bike!

Head down the road and then into woods

Head down the road to your left when you pop off the trail onto it. Shortly you'll see a trail heading off into the woods over a bridge. Go that way to head back to Chip Ross Park.
