Overview: Cochran Mill park is located in Fulton County, near Palmetto, GA. There are several miles of trails, with several side trails or branches. The main trail is the "H" trail. It begins in the large field at the bottom of the hill, and runs along the creek to the end of the park boundary. There are a couple of water crossings and a few steep hillsides. Watch for the signs with the letter "H" and in general follow the creek. Several side trails offer deviations from the main route. Don't get lost.

Tips: Bug spray is a must, ticks are prevalent. Side trails can become confusing. Stick to the main trail if you're not familiar with the park, or don't have GPS/compass. Bring water - hydration is important.

*Note - Cochran Mill Nature Center, located nearby, is not affiliated with Cochran Mill Park and requires an admission fee.

This is the second creek crossing on the "H" trail. If you're a good jumper, you may be able to jump this one when it has been very dry. Otherwise, plan to get your feet wet. i m new to the area. Just discovered this park and looking to explore further in. I've only made it to the oddly shaped mowed circle area. Why is that there? I can't seem to find any trail maps except to go in and backtrack all the way. Is anyone familiar with the area. Seems safe. Can I take my kids? How many hours to go to snake rock and back? Any suggestions for a beginner would be much obliged. Thanks.
