Overview: Snowbird is a world class ski resort, widely known for its champagne powder and steep runs. But during the summer, it also offers some fun mountain bike trails. The lower half of the mountain offers some fun singletrack and rolling trails and connects with the White Pine trail which has some technical singletrack that is hardly used by mountain bikers. This guide describes the lower trails (Chauner's Loop, Midway Trail, and Dean's Delight) and the White Pine trail. My directions for the trail are a lollipop loop at the beginning and then an out and back on the White Pine trail. There are various ways to make it shorter or longer. Use your imagination.

Directions: From Salt Lake City, take I15 South for about 8 miles. Take Exit 298 to merge onto I215 East/Belt Route. Go about 5.5 miles and take Exit 6 to merge onto UT-190 E/S Cottonwood Canyon Road toward 3000 E. Continue to follow UT-190 E. Continue onto South Wasatch Boulevard for 2.2 miles. Continue onto UT-210 S/N Little Cottonwood Road and go about 8 miles up to Snowbird Resort. Take Entry 2
into the main parking lot.

Trail Stats:
Starting elevation - 8125 ft.
Maximum elevation - 8500 ft.
Total distance - about 9.6 miles
Total elevation gain - about 2000 ft.

Tips: Pick up a trail map at the Activity Center at the Snowbird Center. The trails are for the most part unmarked. It is also a good idea to pick up a trail map for the White Pine trail if you decide to do this entire ride. My ride description ends about 0.5 miles up (toward White Pine Lake)the White Pine Trail from the trailhead below Snowbird.

This is a high altitude ride (starts at over 8000 feet elevation). Be prepared for sudden changes in the weather, specifically rain and cold temperatures. Becoming hypothermic at this altitude is easy to do, even during the summer, especially if you are unprepared.

The Snowbird Center has different facilities that are open during the summer. This is convenient just in case you forget something, like food, water, etc. The Activity Center also rents bikes and has trail maps of the area.
