Overview: This hike will bring you deep into the Teton Mountain Range. This popular hike will start from the shore of the lake and take you up to the 200 foot tall Hidden Falls and Inspiration Point which provides great views out over the National Park. Most people will stop at this point but this guide will take you a little further up into Cascade Canyon where you might spot a moose or two before heading back for the boat return across Jenny Lake.

Tips: Trailhead:
This is located at the Jenny Lake Visitor Center. Simply follow the signs for the Jenny Lake Boat Ramp. You can park at the visitor center. There is also a 3.3 mile one way trail around the lake to get to the start of the canyon trail but trust me it is worth the $10 trip via the boat across the lake to shave 6.6 miles off the hike!

There is a $20 fee to enter the National Park as well.

Inspiration Point

I'm not exactly sure were the specific Inspiration Point view POI is (there is a sign - see attached photo) because there are so many views from this switchback climb up into Cascade Canyon. You'll be able to see out over the Grand Teton National Park and up into the Cathedral Group of Mountains towards the Grand Teton Towering above them all.

Cascade Canyon

Your gps may have a little trouble obtaining a signal (that is why the gps track of this guide is a little wild in this part of the canyon). Make sure you keep track of your time and your distance from the boat launch and when the last boat leaves to return to the Jenny Lake Visitor Center. We got to this point before we had to turn around to make it back in time. Keep your eye out for animals in this area such as Moose and Pika! From here head back to the junction at POI #7 and take the other trail back to the boat launch to complete the loop hike.
