Overview: From Zinal many great hiking trails start, this one leads you to one of the highest cabanes of the Alps to an amazing height of 3256m. From Cabane de Tracuit you'll get an amazing view over the +4000m mountains and the Turtmanngletsher.

Tips: - Only attempt this hike when the weather is beautiful
- Only attempt this hike when freezing lever is above 3500m or higher and with not much snow. At this altitude snow is more frequent
- Although the hike looks not very long, it is 1,5km in height difference! When going up, calculate 4 to 5 hours of time to get there.

Parking

Starting point - Parking spot

When arriving at Zinal, go through the village. At the end of the village you'll find a free parking area where we can set off.
When ready, go back to the direction of Zinal and take the first route to the right, this will lead you to the starting point of Tracuit.

Junction to Cabane de Tracuit

At this point the Cabane de Tracuit is clearly indicated. Be aware of the length: 4 to 5 hours.

At last you'll reach the Cabane, time for a nice rest before heading back.

I really loved this hike, an amazing view after such a climb is breathtaking. Recommendation for everyone who's in the neighborhood. Best time is in summer when snow level is around or above 3000m. Last kilometer could be slippery when there is still some snow!
