Overview: Stating from the parking lot in Sir Wilfrid Laurier Park, you quickly enter the riverside trail area. This is a great, relaxing walk along the river with different opportunities to go right down to the riverside. This is also an off leash area for pets, so your four legged friend can cool off with a swim in the mighty North Saskatchewan.

On the way you will pass the home of the Edmonton Rowing Club. The ERC is a non-profit whose mission is to stimulate, advocate, and develop the sport of rowing in the Greater Edmonton Area. They have been in this area since 1974 and run programs for rowers 14 years and up. Check out their website for more information. From here you can also access the docks and walk right out on the river. If it's a hot day, you will see lots of boat traffic running up and down the river.

Moving down the path, you will continue to enjoy the river views on your right as you come to the junction that either takes you to the pedestrian bridge over to Hawrelak Park, or back along the gravel path to our starting point.

The gravel path is level and wide and is shared by all trail users. You will pass the front of the ERC's Boathouse and Clubhouse before working your way back to the kick off point. There are slight changes in elevation along the riverside trail, but the trail is in great condition and heavily used.

Tips: -This is an off leash area for pets, so be aware of pets in the area
