Overview: This guide shows one of the possible routes that is possible at Bon Tempe Lake. Bon Tempe Lake offers a wide variety of activities that are possible. The north side offers an open area, while the other sides over trails that travel through wooded area. Once you get to the dam the trail continues all the way around the lake, but this guide shows joining back to where I started along the road. The dam has a great view of both Bon Tempe Lake and Alpine lake as well as the surrounding mountains including Mt. Tam.

Parking

There are many possible places to park to get to Bon Tempe Lake. This is the Lake Lagunitas parking lot which is the biggest parking lot in this area. It is eight dollars to park anywhere in this area.

Sunnyside Trail

This turn off is the Sunnyside Trail that follows the water along the north side of the lake. This side of the lake is very open with very few trees and is very popular for fishing. During the spring this side of the lake is covered with wildflowers.
